Message From Founder

It's been a long road since November but here we are today. Many people have come and gone since our creation, but the common theme of friendship, camaraderie, and community remain. No one truly leaves the Illuminati, even those who were removed still keep ties to us in some way. That is a real testament to the good people we have here, and the good people who are yet to come.

We started in November of 2003 with the goal of being a crew. The HvCFT Excelsior born out of a dream of being a group of twelve people, to which I never thought I would get in the first place, who would have the same vision of Zion and the same goal of just having a good time. We were never created to rule, or to be the "best" but rather just to be good friends who played games together, if power came out of that...so be it. Over a period of a month we grew, to what at the time seemed massive. Our faction dwarfed every other group in the community, with at least three ships full of crew members. We had many people who were stationed as marines waiting to join new crews which were being added to the fleet. It was a time of growth, and to find our new selves.

Much like today we were trying to see who we were, and what we had become. It was a thought shift, one that not everyone agreed with. We lost some people at the time because of it...many have returned, others have been forgotten into the net. We continued to expand and finally reached a point where we had gotten so large, and so influential in the community it seemed there was no where else to go. We looked toward the future, and dreamed of what our time in MxO would be like. What we would do with the time we spent there, and wonderment of living in a Matrix world. Fan fiction sprouted up, and continued to flourish for many months as we frantically tried to find scraps of information on the game we all were obsessed with.

It was during this time that we became more than just an MxO faction, but a true community. One of friends and gamers. One that we still share today. We have always been the Illuminati Gaming Society, whether or not declared. We are more than just a faction, more than just people spending time on a fictional crew in a virtual world. We are friends, comrades, brothers in arms. We are all here together, in a place where we can come together. We are here so that we can play not only MxO, but any other game that someone feels like playing! We have evolved again, slow as it may have been; Unnoticeable even.

The Present

Today we stand, as friends and gamers across the world. From almost every continent on the planet. Hundreds of members strong, in games and game worlds from magic books to guns to lightsabers, we stand together. Our future can only get brighter, as we come upon a new age. The Illuminati Gaming Society is not only a brotherhood but a dream, a dream of continued friendship for years to come. We all will inevitably get older, our goals in life will change. But I hope that as our lives go on, we will all still remain together. Linked in some way with one another, as friends and common allies in all worlds we make our home in.

The Future

The Illuminati of the future will be a place where if you want to play the Matrix Online at one minute you will find us there, people you know, people you enjoy spending time with. If you want to play Star Wars Galaxies the next minute, you can say "Hey, Bob let's go play SWG for a few hours." and you can head over there. Meanwhile there will be matches in BF2, CS:S, and buddies who just want to team up over a game of Halo 3 on the XBOX 360, or some other console title. We will be fluid, mobile, and the vision will continue.

From the past of the Excelsior, to the present Illuminati, to the future of the fully operation Illuminati Gaming Society. Our history is set, and our destiny awaits, just within our reach. Together, we will step into the new age... Long live the Illuminati!
